Getting back into yoga again last month required a bit of a fitness wardrobe overhaul. My breakfast routine lately has experienced an overhaul after a nice Black Friday purchase of a small blender for smoothies. The best smoothie book I’ve found is “100 Best Juices, Smoothies, and Healthy Snacks” by Emily Von Euw. Here’s one really delicious recipe directly from the book if you want to give it a try:

Ginger Peppermint Liver Cleanser Peppermint leaves help your liver by increasing bile flow while breaking down fats and lowering bad cholesterol. Ginger has been proven to prevent diseases associated with the liver as well as cleanse the blood. Health benefits aside, the flavors combine with tropical fruits to make one deliciously fresh drink. Have this one in the morning to start your day off right. Blend all ingredients until smooth and green, making sure there aren’t any fibers from the ginger left unblended…they get in your teeth.

1 cup (24 g) packed mint leaves
2 bananas
4 ice cubes
1 tbsp (15 g) ginger
1 cup (165 g) pineapple
1–3 cups (237-710 mL) water
