P.S. from the editor

Time flies after the Fourth of July! I hope y’all are having a great summer so far! (Can you tell I just got back from visiting my sister in Texas?) This summer has flown by for me. In addition to doing quite a bit of traveling already (which I hope to recap in my next editor’s note in August), my husband and I also bought a new house… moving and selling a house is not too fun, let me tell you! But eating outside this summer on our new back deck will make all that hassle worth it, I’m sure.

Summer in Indiana is a glorious season. I’ll be enjoying a TinCaps baseball game this weekend and I’m looking forward to the fireworks after the game. And, let’s be honest, is there anything better than a fresh Indiana ripe tomato? Those early girls should be ready this month, too.

I hope you don’t mind a feet photo! Lately, we’ve been enjoying the beach in Saint Joseph, Michigan. The water, while still icy cold, is crystal clear and the beach is beautifully clean. I love the Great Lakes, because you can almost trick yourself into thinking you’re at the ocean.

In this month’s glo, there is a ton of great reading on how to make your summer travels enjoyable. And traveling does not even mean going far away. We have some great ideas for staycations in this month’s issue, and even a whole article on glamping. While I love tent camping, I could get behind glamping fairly quickly if given the opportunity! There is also a great article featuring Berne and Decatur, which are charming small towns just a hop, skip, and a short car ride away from Fort Wayne.

Isn’t our town, our community, our state, and our country pretty great? Happy birthday, America! Have a lovely month. Happy July!
