Photo by Barb Sieminski, Feature Photographer The Divas had a marvelous lunch at Mi Pueblo, located at 2419 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne. We have eaten at a lot of Mexican eateries and we thought this one was one of the best! We ordered the steak and chicken fajitas, which were prepared and served piping hot and to perfection. The beans, rice and guacamole were delicious!
Our server was Filipe. We didn’t know what we really wanted so he suggested the special of the day. Thanks, Felipe, great choice! The service was fast, very professional and also friendly. The menu had a large variety and when I return, I plan to try the enchiladas De Camaron that are filled with baby shrimp and pico de gallo topped with cheese, sour cream and guacamole. Or how about Birria? Lamb simmered in a salsa made of roasted chiles and garlic. The possibilities are endless. Our lunches were under $8 and the portions were large.
The decor has a definite ambiance of Mexico and is very comfortable. We felt we had a wonderful dining experience.
Sandy and I decided we could use a walk with our dogs through Lakeside Park after a meal like that, so we picked up her pomeranian, Sweet Pea, and my chihuahua, Roxy. Soon after our arrival, we discovered this may not have been the greatest of ideas. The dogs started barking and chasing the ducks and the ducks started quacking and chasing the dogs. Well, so much for a quiet relaxing walk in the park after such a great meal!
While driving home, we discussed where we would eat and write our next review. We know where it will be so get ready to be surprised!
As for Mi Pueblo, will the Divas be back? Of course we will and hope to see you there!
