Firefly Coffee House

Firefly Coffee HouseThe foodies are back! After a cold and hideous winter, isn’t it wonderful to see spring arrive again? Manicures, pedicures and new hair dos are all a welcome change.

After a morning of pampering ourselves we stopped at the Firefly Coffee House for a pick-me-up: spiced chai tea, coffee and pastries. We couldn’t resist the bacon and cheddar quiche. This was absolutely delicious as was the broccoli and cheese soup.

The menu offers a large variety of sandwiches and always a “soup of the day.” Oh, and those wonderful cookies we had with our coffee… Pecan cookies of all kinds and an assortment of scotch shortbreads. There was even a variety of gluten-free cookies.

The atmosphere was restful and quiet while we were there. It’s perfect for those using their lap tops and, yes, WIFI is available.

The large room is sectioned into areas for gathering with friends, and maybe for some private conversations. The decor consists of a large quantity of different types of art. Cards for all occasions are on display. The artist who designed them used an Indiana theme. My favorite was the red barn with “Mail Pouch Tobacco” printed on it. It was a great way to reflect on a by gone era. All the designs are unique, however.

Outdoor seating and tables are available for warm, beautiful days and evenings. Being so close to Concordia High School, Ivy Tech and IUPU, students and faculty are always welcome.

Will the Divas return to the Firefly? Of course! We hope to see you there.

The Firefly Coffee House is located at 3523 North Anthony, Fort Wayne.
