Congratulations to Emily Blossom for winning the glo & Go Red Cover Contest! Go Red For Women celebrates the energy, passion and power we have as women to band together to wipe out heart disease – the No. 1 killer of women!
Artist: Emily Blossom
Art: “Veronica” Emily’s inspiration behind “Veronica,” is her love for the color red. She enjoys painting the female figure, and used red to express passion and desire.
“I have been exploring different artistic mediums for as long as I can remember. I’ve dabbled in everything from painting to sculpture to photography to graphic design and most recently sewing! Art has always been a dominant part of my life. I studied graphic design in college, then worked as a graphic designer and art director for 10 years. In 2012, my husband and I were blessed with our daughter, Betty. She is my best creation. Since Betty’s birth, I have been a stay-at-home-mom and my art has taken a more kid-friendly turn. These days, I make and sell colorful aprons for kids and moms through my Etsy shop, Emilyokids. I hand-make and sell various styles, creating all of the patterns myself. I’ve experienced some unexpected success and am learning more about sales and marketing. It’s been an amazing new adventure! I am grateful and proud to be selected as a member of Glo Magazine’s female artists.
Emily’s Favorite Part of glo magazine?: “My favorite part of glo magazine is the covers! I love seeing all of the different styles and artists in our region. I get excited when I see a new cover on newsstands.”
