Emma says, “Although I was never in dance classes, I have always thought being a ballerina would be amazing. I love the way the warm tones of chocolate and gold offset the cold light pink tones.” “The Ballerina” is currently available for sale at Lyn-Maree’s in Auburn, 18×25 acrylic on canvas $85.
Artist: Emma Taylor-Metcalf graduated from Purdue University in 2011. In 2012, she bought a small women’s accessory boutique in Auburn called Lyn-Maree’s. She has since expanded to include clothing, locally-made soaps and crochet art to accompany the jewelry, scarves and handbags. Emma has been painting for as long as she can remember. She partnered with the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum to teach “Cork and Canvas” and “Kids and Canvas” classes. She loves helping people create their own masterpieces. Emma is also a photographer and enjoys taking pictures of families with young children. When not working, she is a wife to husband, Josh, mom to potbelly pig, Turbo, and works on downtown Auburn community events. Emma’s artwork is displayed at Lyn-Maree’s. What Emma likes best about glo: “I knew from my first look at glo it was for me: artsy, girly and full of local
women’s stories that I can actually relate to. The covers have all been so beautiful and made by many amazing local artists. It’s a true honor to be given the opportunity to be on the January 2015 cover.”
