Baker’s Street – Fort Wayne

Classic but comfortable. Attentive service. Friendly management. And the food? Deee-lish!

baker's street fort wayneMy honey will tell you. I’m a sucker for appetizers — and Baker’s Street serves some of the best! Their smoked gouda crab dip is one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Rich with the right balance of roasted red peppers and baby spinach, it’s delicious with pita chips—or demolish the bread boule in which it is served (as I did). An array of appetizers are available at Baker’s Street, and all offer a unique, classy twist.

Nothing at Baker’s Street is bland or basic—it’s all pure class and culinary delight.

I’ve had both the Chop Chop salad and the Strawberry & Spinach salad at Baker’s Street. Both are comprised of perfectly picked and fresh ingredients—these are a predictably perfect addition to the meal, or as a filling lunch (with an appetizer, of course). This time, I opted for Strawberry & Spinach salad yet again. And yet again, it was fresh and sweet for this girl’s tastebuds.

Joe and Sue with Kelley and BillAs with many steakhouses, Baker’s Street offers a balance of steak and fish entrees. And chicken. And pork chops. But Baker’s Street’s signature pieces? In my opinion, it’s in their steak preparation. Again, nothing is standard by the norm. My main entrée was the Kentucky Whiskey Ribeye (you expected chicken from me, didn’t you…). The cut was delightfully marbled, and the marinade? Scrumptious. The side of asparagus was cooked just as I like it, and the steak was topped with spicy onion straws. I admit I did not eat the onion straws (you’re welcome, Joe), but they did look tempting.

I would be remiss to not shout out at Nick, our server. He was charming and a patient gentleman to our party of four. Baker’s Street is fantastic stop for a carefree, enjoyable, quality meal—in upscale, yet comfortable surroundings in the dining area, and upbeat, lively action in its bar.

If you’re looking to add another restaurant to your weekend date night rotation — or a lunch or after-work drink (and appetizer) destination—Baker’s Street might quickly become a favorite on your list!a
